Boys

So last night, Lee was actually in a chatty mood when we were laying in bed. This practically never happens so I try to take advantage of that when it does, as I love to talk at that time. =) Anyway, part of our convo went a little something like this....

Me: "I'm so glad we had a little BOY.... It's like God knew exactly what would fit us and it's so fun."

Lee: "I know. And I just understand boys in general a lot better than girls."
Me: "Well, you understand me. I'm not too complicated."

Awkward silence for 5 or 6 seconds.

Lee:"Well........ Sort of."
Anyway, all that to say, here's a pic of Aaron in a onesie that I got from my friend Gloria. It's a John Deere onesie and it says "Farmer in Training". Many of you know my dad was a farmer and I grew up on a farm. Just another reason I'm happy for a little boy - got to have a little farmer around. =)

Stroller rides

Nothing cures a busy or stressed-out mom and a fussy baby like a nice long stroller ride. Aaron and I are both LOVING this awesome Arizona weather to go out for walks, and we always have a good time together.... As we walked today, I was feeling a bit reflective as Aaron reached 6 months old today. What a wonderful blessing and gift from God he has been to us!!!
"Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting." Psalm 106:1

A great invention

My friend Kirsten Abbiatti gave me the coolest gift for Aaron - It is called a "Fresh Food Feeder" and he loves it! It allows him to taste and experience different kinds of solid foods without choking, but I think the best aspect of it is that it keeps him very occupied in his high chair while we are eating or I'm cooking in the kitchen - Because if you've been around Aaron, you know he gets bored easily. (Incidentally, he gets this from his father, not me =) ). So definitely an inexpensive "must have" if you have a baby around. We've tried apples, bananas, grapes - does anyone else have any other ideas of good things to stick in there???

A new record

I don't know if it was a coincidence, but either way, I think this new machine we bought is my best friend....

It's a white noise machine, and Aaron has been sleeping quite well with it the past few nights. Last night, he hit an all-time sleep record of 10 hours straight, which is just, well, AMAZING . I think that machine, combined with a lot of prayer, is making a big difference and we are hoping it will last!

Saturday nights

For as long as I can remember, we always grew up having burgers and fries on Saturday nights. We've continued the tradition, even though all of us Fox kids are out of the house. So as long as all of our schedules permit, we all congregate to my mom and dad's for the traditional Saturday night meal.

Brynn and Aaron aren't quite up for the burgers yet, but they are working on it - For now, they stick to milk and just hanging out together....

A look back....

This past week as I was printing and organizing all of Aaron's digital photos over the past 5 months, I found myself saying exactly what I hear every other parent around me say - "Man, it goes by so fast." As Aaron has grown and changed so quickly, I was feeling sentimental and decided to post some newborn pics of him (courtesy of Julie Gransee in the hospital) so you can all reminisce along with me....

New Year's Eve

We had a big party at church last night for New Year's Eve. Grandma & Grandpa Fox watched Aaron for a few hours and then brought him up to church to drop him off. I (Melissa) attempted to put him down for a few hours of sleep in the church nursery, but Aaron wanted nothing to do with going to sleep, even though it was past his bedtime. He was much more interested in playing games and hanging out with the college students....

"Please don't put me to bed Mommy!!!"
"I promise I'll be good!!!!"
